An advanced system for straightening and/or stretching wire.

Built to European norms, rebar, requiring percentage stretching (elongation) led to one of the latest developments by COMETO for the treatment of warm formed rebar having diameters from 6 to 14mm. With the technology developed by Cometo, percentage precision elongation is set in advance/predetrmined and can be modified during operation. The ESM straightener can store up to 100 recipes which includes the positioning of each roller, percentage wire stretching and related tolerance. Each function can be modified during operation and automatically stored in the program in use.

During rebar processing (stretching/elongation), the rod is continuously monitored by two speed measurement devices (sensors), both in the input and output phases. Any variation in the percentage of elongation causes the measuring devices’ (sensors) to correct the roller by re-establishing the set percentage.

Rollers are driven by high-powered gear motors (step motors) which ensure the best precision of movement.
