Eurodraw Energy was established in 1992 by GCR
Cables Engineering S.p.A.
During 1992 GCR Cables Engineering S.p.A. also
had the benefit of ownership of several wire and
cable manufacturing companies both in Italy and
abroad :
- GCR Power Cables, Italy - (medium, high voltage
cables)
- IMR, Italy - (casting plant and drawing mill
for ALU-CU)
- CODELCA 1°, Italy - (transatlantic cables
- super high V. cables)
- CODELCA 2°, Italy - (communication cables
- optical fibers)
- PALAZZO, Italy - (FIAT control cables - off
shore control cables)
- GCR Communication Cable, Italy - (telephone
cable)
- FERCABLE, Spain - (medium - high - low voltage
cable)
- TUNIS CABLE, Tunis - (telephone cables - power
cable)
Eurodraw Energy S.p.A. was established by GCR Cables
Engineering S.p.A., with the purpose to produce a
wide range of drawing machines for the cable companies
in the Group. These drawing machines were to be designed
and manufactured upon the specific requirement and
application of the cable companies within the said
Group. This customization approach was adopted as
no supplier could manufacture any specially made machine
suiting the requirements of the end-user.
Since its inception, Eurodraw Energy continued to
further develop the design of wire drawing machines
as a result of the vast knowledge that was brought
together by the various cable companies of the Group.
During 1996 GCR Cables Engineering S.p.A. sold their
cable manufacturing companies to Siemens and Eurodraw
Energy S.p.A. became an independent company supplying
wire drawing machines to the world market. In 2002
O.M. Lesmo acquired Eurodraw Energy to be able to
offer the complete provision of wire drawing machinery
and cable rotating machines.
